Where does the CinTrak club we meet?

The club does not currently have a clubhouse so that dues can be kept to minimum. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at a member's house or a local restaurant to discuss business and socialize.

Anyone can join. Our members range in age from 15 to 75. Requirements are to help set up and tear down at two shows. Attend two meetings. Be voted in. Pay $50 annual dues.

How much does it cost to build a module?

A basic 4' module with modest scenery and a few buildings can be built for about $100. Often club members help each other out with extra buildings, materials and construction. Adding turnouts, additional trackage or costly buildings will increase cost.

Will modules fit with other club's modules?

Yes, our modules will fit with any other N-Trak club in the world. That is the reason that we follow the Ntrak standard. Our members routinely set up with clubs from all over the midwest including Dayton, Louisville, Nashville and Milwaukee.

How do you control trains?

Our club currently uses Digitrax DCC. This allows each operator to independently control his/her own train and run anywhere on the layout.

What is DCC?

DCC is basically a remote control train. The engine has a decoder in it and the remote is in the hand of the engineer. The controls are wireless and allow the engineer more freedom to walk around the layout.

What if I can't store, handle, or transport a 24" x 48" N-Trak module?

Our club also has multiple oNe-Trak modules! As the name implies, each module has one main track instead of three. They are typically 12" x 48" reducing cost, size and weight and will easily fit in the back seat of most cars.
