CiNTrak was founded October 12,
1980 by David Petty, David Bridges, Bill Moore, Robert Morrow,
George Mitchell and George Rudbeck. CiNTrak grew to 8 members with the addition of Bob
Chapman and Richard Reager at our second meeting and to 10 when
Steve Shanstrom and Jerry Watson joined at the third meeting in
February 1981. The 6 founding members plus these 4 made up the
Charter Club members. The first club officers were:
Robert Morrow, Vice-President
Steven Shanstrom, Secretary-Treasurer
Each of us started with one 2' x 4' module. At that time we had
profiles for the ends so that the scenery flowed smoothly from
one module to the next. The size of the corner modules at that
time was very much a problem so we simply built 4 two foot
square corners without legs that we used for many shows. At
times we would make trains as long as 100 cars but about 30 to
40 cars proved more practical on that size layout.
